Planet Brompton

Mit dem Brompton als digitaler Nomade unterwegs

We are back in Berlin

After three years of cycling once around the world – and letting our Bromptons hibernate a little longer than planned – we’ve finally made it back to Berlin.

We’re easing back into city life and already started to explore Berlin by our little folding bicycles. And, we love it…

2 Wheels, 1 Destination – Letters, Neon & a Folding Bike Off Track

Some places in the city aren’t just destinations. You roll there – intentionally, with open eyes and a foldable heart. And sometimes, your Brompton ends up parked between neon signs, looking like part of the exhibit.

Berlin

Today’s ride: The Berlin Museum of Letters.

3,000 characters that once lit up rooftops, cinemas, department stores and curry joints.

Saved from the scrapyard, cleaned, catalogued, and glowing again – full of stories, shapes, and nostalgia.

Why visit?

👉 Just steps from Bellevue station – easy to reach

👉 Next to Tiergarten – perfect for a post-museum cruise

👉 Unexpectedly moving: neon letters tell Berlin’s past

👉 Friendly welcome, lovingly curated, beautifully chaotic

👉 A photo dream for anyone into typography, design, or urban quirks

📍 Address: Stadtbahnbogen 424, 10557 Berlin

🕰 Opening times: Not daily – check before you go

🎟 Admission: €12 (it’s a self-sustaining non-profit – worth every cent)

💡Our verdict:

With a Brompton, you don’t need a rigid plan. Just two wheels, one destination – and the curiosity to wander. And sometimes, you find more than a museum. You find a flickering “R” blinking at you softly, as if to say: You belong here.
